Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Rigger Level 3 with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
The Rigger is responsible for setting up and conducting all lifting activities as well as assembling of flanged/ threaded joints.
- Develop and/or assist in the development of lift plans.
- Review approved lift plans, diagrams and related documents.
- Select rigging equipment and accessories according to approved lift plans.
- Perform pre use inspection of rigging equipment and accessories.
- Rig and install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
- Rig and install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment, e.g. Oxy-Acetylene and ensure Responsible Care is the primary focus of all contract personnel.
- Move parts into position, manually or by using hoists or cranes.
- Confirm the weights, dimensions and heights of all loads to be lifted.
- Assess the lift and the surrounding location and perform hazard identification/JHA’s, lanyard/tag line usage, manoeuvres, working space for crane booms, turning space for counterweights, and participate in risk assessments.
- Work with equipment operators to ensure that loads are secure.
- Install and assemble piping and structural components.
- Ensure cranes and all rigging and lifting equipment is certified for use.
- Calculate load chart with measurements, safety factor, crane model, rigging and distance and use dimensions to get volume and mass.
- Perform Housekeeping activities as required.
