Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a QAQC Mechanical Inspector with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The QAQC Mechanical Inpsector is responsible for :
- Assists in the field execution of the quality assurance and quality control program by ensuring quality issues/problems within Construction/Engineering are identified, reported and rectified. Provide office support when required and not assigned to an offshore asset.
- Plans, coordinates and reports on the execution of QAQC plans within Inspection activities/findings for the Construction/Engineering Department.
- Inspect, supervise and attest key hold ITP’s points along with Subcontractors quality personnel on the field.
- Anticipate and resolve problems encountered in the field to eliminate costly rework or re-testing.
- Validates the approval, distribution and revision of procedures, Process Plans and Work / Operations Procedures for the overall Construction activity. Liaises with the Construction/Engineering Department where necessary.
- Identifies and evaluates Quality-related incidents / problems / non-conformances and initiates, recommends, and provides effective solutions where necessary.
- Responsible for the initiation, collection, disposition and retention of QA/QC records in a timely manner in accordance with documented procedures.
- Manages relationship with Sub-contracted companies to ensure compliance between subcontracted services and Client best practices.
- Liaises with HSSE representatives (internal, client & external) to ensure inherent compliance of documentation with MWG and Client safety standards.
- Liaises with MWG Quality Lead, MW QAQC Coordinator, Construction Superintendent, Construction Coordinators, Field Supervisors and SPA’s as work progresses and provide activity updates in the form of a QA/QC Daily Report covering all assigned Projects.
- Perform Audit surveillance as work progresses, avoid last minute discoveries, address repetitive non-compliance and monitor implementation of corrective actions in response to the identification of non-conforming products/services through QA/QC Audits or otherwise, until the unsatisfactory condition has been rectified.
- Perform site inspections at subcontractor workshops which include but not limited to Instrument Calibration, Control Valve testing, Material inspections
- Review all inspection and testing reports for compliance, with reference to applicable industry codes and site standards/procedures.
- Liaise with the site subcontractors’ QC inspectors for the resolution of site problems.
- Review of sub-contractor procedures and quality documentation such as ITP’s, Installation and testing procedures.
- Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections to ensure code, testing, and material compliance of services and products and the standard of strike's Quality Management System.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of piping and mechanical inspection activities with minimum supervision.
- Ensure Piping and Mechanical ITP stages are followed and complied.
- Review IFC P&ID's, ISO's drawings to ensure appropriate WPS are referenced with weld details and overall accuracy.
- Monitor Piping and Mechanical operations and conduct required inspections work to resolve quality related issues with workers, subcontractors, and client.
- Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
- Develop inspection and test programs.
- Identify and control all NCR's while correcting with remedial action.
- Review radiographic film.
- Witness all pressure testing; finalize testing documentation.
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and competed in a timely matter meeting project deadlines.
- Coordinate quality site inspections with all site sub-contractors and vendors, coordinate all non-destructive testing on site, and monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
- Inspect / review product material, weld quality and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications.
- Review and revise Massy Wood ITP and Quality Procedures to be in alignment with Client Requirements and specification.
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and competed in a timely matter meeting project deadlines.
- Review of Cable testing records for compliance to project specification acceptance criteria.
- Participation and quality presentation in daily toolbox talks.
- Active participation in Quality improvements drives.
- Maintaining a log of items that require corrective actions and reporting such to site construction Team in a timely manner.
- Punch listing of items and communication of such to the site construction leads.
- Completion of GO Completion ITR’s.
- Material Receipt compliance inspection.
- Ensure the client is satisfied before, during and after work is completed.
- Performs all other related job functions as required.
