Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Intern.
Applicants must have full work rights in Guyana to be eligible for this role.
- Work alongside Senior Engineers to plan and conceptualize Mechanical designs for new projects/products with input to P&IDs and Process documentation
- Perform engineering calculations, specifications and scope of work to support design work for Equipment (Static & Dynamic) under guidance & supervision of Senior Engineer
- Perform validation of new designs showing adherence to Client, Statutory and Regulatory Codes and Standards
- Support review of technical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors during the design development process
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process (inclusive of monitoring contractor performance)
- Develop EWPs (and Input to CWPs)
- Work to support and provide technical responses to Construction / On Site execution team
- Provide support to all piping CADD functions to ensure all activities are met according to project schedule
- Studying and understanding of piping codes and standards to maintain overall conformance of all piping designs
- Maintain accuracy on all piping projects ensuring compliance to all client specific piping material specifications
- Develop preliminary bills of materials with respect to piping designs
- Provide support for purchase activities including evaluation of vendor submittals
- Provide assistance to senior piping engineers recommending improvements to piping designs
- Conduct necessary fieldwork inclusive of walk downs of current systems to locate piping tie-ins / field measurements
- Prepare piping design sketches / site sketches as required by drafting personnel
- Field check piping drawings developed by drafting personnel
- Asist with piping bid documents for input into construction work packs
- Keep a log of competencies gained through further education, external training and internal / on the job training
- Deliver assigned tasks to schedule
- Knowledge of and adherence to Massy Wood Group and project specific Engineering Management Systems and Procedures relevant to the role
- Demonstrate the appropriate competence level for the job
- Self-checking of own work
- Prepare timesheets accurately and timely
- Perform all other job-related functions as required
