Massy Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Intern.  

Applicants must have full work rights in Guyana to be eligible for this role.

• Work alongside Senior Engineers to plan and conceptualize Electrical designs for new projects/products with input to drawings, and other technical documentation
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and SOWs to support Electrical design work under guidance & supervision of Senior Engineer

• Perform validation of new designs showing adherence to Client, Statutory and Regulatory Codes and Standards

• Work with Discipline Designers to prepare technical drawings, plans and schedules under supervision of Senior Engineer

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors during the design development process

• Prepare detailed documentation to track project development and design process (inclusive of monitoring contractor performance)

• Develop EWPs (and Input to CWPs)

• Work alongside Senior Engineer to support and provide technical responses to Construction / On Site execution team

• Perform site visits and surveys to Construction/Fabrication sites alongside Senior representatives to gain familiarity with methods, materials, and safe working practices

• Work and progress according to Training Plan

• Keep a log of competencies gained through further education, external training and internal / on the job training

• Deliver assigned tasks to schedule

• Knowledge of and adherence to Massy Wood Group and project specific Engineering Management Systems and Procedures relevant to the role

• Demonstrate the appropriate competence level for the job

• Self-checking of own work

• Prepare timesheets accurately and timely

• Perform all other job-related functions as required

• Typically a minimum of 0-2 years’ relevant experience
• Possesses basic appreciation of discipline software and tools
• Possesses basic appreciation of key discipline applications
• Possesses a reasonable command of the English language and must be able to communicate English effectively in the field of Engineering
