The Rigging Foreman is responsible for supervising operations at site locations working under the direction of the Field Supervisor. The Foreman will direct, monitor, and administer operations of assigned work crews and ensure quality of workmanship.
- Lead and control skilled labour and work crews engaged in all activities concerned with the piping and structural aspects of the project.
- Optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.
- Demonstrate good organizational skills; follow policies, procedures and work practices, and develop improvements where necessary.
- Read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures.
- Keep records of all work completed and completion of “Action Lists”.
- Liaise with other discipline foremen to ensure the optimum utilization of available work, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project.
- Ensure new crew members are suitably trained and instructed on the project work scope and quality requirements.
- Ensure all necessary plant and piping equipment are maintained in a current operable and calibrated condition, and work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
- Prevent wastage and/or misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
- Supervise work crews to best utilize manpower and materials to ensure efficiency.
- Ensure consumable control requirements are closely followed.
- Ensure the monitoring, witness and inspection requirements of the Quality Control Inspection plan are followed.
- Familiarity with all Company QA/QC and safety procedures / regulations and strictly enforces them with the workforce under their responsibility.
- Review all reports under areas of control to determine accuracy and follow up on any corrective or improvement actions.
- Provide input for plans and schedules, manage work to ensure attainment of schedule and identify areas of concern where necessary.
- Identify improvement opportunities that add value to both the company and the client.
- Ensure all records, reports and documentation, both electronic and manual, are maintained to auditable standards.
- Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness to ensure all sub-ordinates and subcontractors are aware of standards expected to proactively assist in improving and maintaining high HSSE standards and performance.
- Provide input to risk assessments and actively participate in the investigation of equipment failures/incidents for areas under control.
- Performs all other related job functions as required.
