Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Fabrication Shop Supervisor with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry.
The Fabrication Shop Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all Fabrication Shop activities, ensuring the successful delivery of quality, accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of fabrication shop deliverables.
- Responsible for the quality, accuracy, integrity, and timely issue of fabrication Shop deliverables.
- Coordinate fabrication activities such as welding, fitting, assembly and rigging.
- Supervise daily shop operations including piping, structural steel, pressure vessels (ASME Section VIII R and U stamps), tanks, and related components.
- Ensures that the Fabrication work scope is clearly defined, and risk assessed applying masterful application of scope optimization processes.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Fabrication Shop team to achieve high quality, productivity and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Ensure front end planning/readiness is completed with the execution Foremen.
- Participate in the development of estimates and WBS for fabrication and construction related scopes.
- Participate in planning meetings and provide input on resource allocation, scheduling, and process improvements.
- Lead kick-off meetings to ensure technical scope criteria are discussed and understood by team members prior to engagement.
- Coordinate fabrication priorities and build sequence aligned to project plan.
- Monitor fabrication manpower resource profile.
- Support fabrication schedule development.
- Conduct fabrication and constructability sessions on complex scopes with in-house Fabrication Shop Teams.
- Review and ensure fabrication documents are available and aligned to scope requirements i.e. WPS’s, ITP’s, IFC’s, Work Instructions etc.
- Coordinate with hydrotesting and painting teams to get completed assembles completed and hand over to load out team.
- Tracks the progress of all projects, reporting progress, concerns, and recommended corrective actions promptly.
- Responsible for generating and submitting timely, accurate daily reports to TSS Construction Manager and other relevant parties.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
- Collaborate with project -engineers, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Train and mentor team members, promoting skill development and cross-training opportunities.
- Raises RFI’s, TQ’s through the respective functions where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and production output.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Perform all other related job functions as required.
