Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a HSSE&S Advisor with significant experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

 

The HSSE&S Advisor is responsible for auditing, challenging, coaching, communicating, developing, executing, evaluating, coordinating, influencing, monitoring and training the various HSSE&S programs within the designated area, guaranteeing the compliance with the HSSE&S policies, standards and established systems within Massy Wood Group.

 

  • Conduct pre-mobilization inspection and verification check
  • Conduct contractor site visit and perform site inspection and/or audit
  • Complete HSSES pre-qualification requirements to new and existing services
  • Rate accurately contractors based on questionnaire
  • Submit to SCM contractor HSSE&S evaluation report
  • Provide selection feedback required from SCM based on evaluations
  • Conduct all leading indicators - STOP, SOC’s and Influencer etc
  • Generate balanced HSSES dashboards
  • Document HSSES violations when process/procedure is deviated from
  • Collect and maintain accurate Recordkeeping files, electronic and hard copy
  • Upload all documentation unto document management system
  • Meet or exceed the established HSSE&S Management Audit performance goals
  • Delivery of relevant HSSES training
  • Communicate audit / inspection findings and/or risk interventions to client and immediate supervisors
  • Provide HSSE support in the field and office for projects / contract
  • Participate in the client risk assessment process and Risk & Opportunity Assessment
  • Immediate reporting of incident to the client and Massy Wood Management
  • Conduct effective hand over’s
  • Ensure compliance to the HSSE Management System and client requirements
  • Conduct walkabouts with front line supervisors and communicate findings
  • Adhere to HSSES gate system and HSSE&S plans
  • Effective communication of HSSE&S plan to all levels of employees and contractors
  • Raise MOC when required
  • Participate in Lessons learnt both internal and external
  • Attend any client / project HSSE&S meetings
  • Adhere to PDCA plans from evaluation of leading and lagging indicators
  • Assist in the evaluation of contractors regarding field execution performance and pass on information SCM
  • Read and understand the HSSES Management System to ensure compliance and conformance to policies and procedures
  • Communicate at all levels of the organization on interpretation, development, implementation and continuous improvement of Massy Wood Group HSSES Program
  • Participate in constructability review for projects
  • Support Engineering team with HSSES deliverables
  • Conduct equipment verification and inspection
  • Verification of contractor’s personnel competency for personnel onboarding for projects, TAR’s and new hires
  • Develop Chemical Approval Register with supporting MSDS
  • HSSE Inductions/ Trigger Task Training to be conducted with the contractors and employees
  • Review of all contractor Procedures, Method Statements, HSSE Plan & Risk Assessment
  • Develop project and contractors KPI and track/ monitor
  • Complete Level I & II Investigation and generating Safety Alerts
  • Arrangements for visitors, sending link for completing, organizing the authorization forms for signature by the client
  • Generate daily HSSE report and submit it to the project team
  • Train and coach employees enabling them to implement and apply continuous improvement for effectiveness of Massy Wood HSSES Program
  • Meet or exceed the established HSSES Management Audit performance goals
  • Meet or exceed all internal and external HSSES goals/objectives
  • Provide summary reports on verification progress, findings, and status on closeout of improvement actions
  • Provide direction and support to supervisors and employees
  • Continue to improve project and subcontractor HSSES performance
  • Capture and participate in lessons learn for project and contract
  • Support and implement case management strategies
  • Maintain professional development
  • Improve work processes through available technology
  • Provide necessary HSSES reports for projects and or contract
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Flexibility to relocate to Massy Wood site assignments at various locations as deemed necessary
  • Applicable in internal and external client’s performance rating of contractors
  • Recommend reward, recognition and identify any risk interventions
  • Develop and monitor contractor improvement action plans based on project performance to facilitate CI performance
  • Adhere to all HSSES policies/procedures and participate in Leading Indicators that will result in a Zero Accidents culture
  • Perform all other job-related functions as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health from a recognised university
  • National Examination Board of Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Certificate/Diploma
  • Certificate/Diploma from a recognised Safety Professional Board
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Exposure at an operational location associated with Oil/Gas exploration, production and or processing, preferably in a line position
  • Broad knowledge of HSSE&S regulations (TT laws, API, OSHA, NFPA, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14000) as relates to contractor management
  • Knowledge of various operations in the oil and gas
  • Risk Assessment process
  • Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; makes oneself available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; and develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and exhibits sound and accurate judgment
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Working knowledge of Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months)
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago
