Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Construction Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

 

The Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for providing engineering discipline support to the construction team from the development to the construction phase, inclusive of design constructability, supporting specially the project execution & assuring achievement of the plan.in terms of quality, time and budget in compliance with the Company’s HSSE and technical standards as well as established policies and procedures.

 

 

  • Ensure that all construction changes and additional work-scopes are captured by the change control process and that these are highlighted, job card coded and communicated accordingly.
  • Ensure all site activities are performed in a safe, environmentally responsible manner with integrity and quality delivering Company HSSE targets.

  • Early identification of any constructability issues, ensuring the work is engineered and packaged correctly from the outset.
  • Participate in addressing safety objectives for all construction activities
  • Full discipline working knowledge of Construction procedures and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with the WPS management system.
  • Communicate and interface with Massy Wood site team to develop specific needs and timetables.
  • Facilitate communications between EPCm Engineering, Design Disciplines, client and Massy Wood site team.
  • Support the EPCm close-out coordinator and engineering functions with the as-building of all documentation through the provision of red-line mark-ups for inclusion in close out work packs.
  • Attend client and contract specific meetings
  • Recording and closure of Construction related actions.
  • Review design documents and provide Constructability input with the intent of increasing Construction Safety in Design
  • Identify any Specialist Vendor Support, Tools and Equipment required to implement scope (including applicable heavy lifts, logistics, temporary facilities, laydown, major scaffolding designs, etc.)
  • Implement the AWP and EWorkPack processes per the Process Map and Procedures.
  • Develop Implementation Work packs from engineering deliverables and vendor scopes of work.
  • Produce Work Pack containing all relevant documentation required for Construction execution activities
  • Assist in raising CTR’s for all new implementation work scopes
  • Develop accurate estimates including requirements for materials, services, Productive / Non-Productive / Indirect.
  • Assist with the development of the plans, schedules and fabrication/construction man-hour check estimates for the project execution phases.
  • Provide weekly inputs to Plans (POB, Equipment, Logistics, Schedule).
  • Participate in construction HAZOPS, Model, Constructability, HAZIDs reviews and risk assessments as required.
  • Participate in Constructability / Readiness reviews
  • Participate in Construction input to estimates
  • Conduct site surveys and generate reports
  • Liaise with all relevant disciplines
  • Chair Construction Readiness Review Meetings
  • Confirm readiness status with all stakeholders
  • Compile Construction Readiness Review Checklist (CON-FOR-110504)
  • Upload completed checklist into Document Management System
  • Support individual development within the Construction function
  • Support peers in their development within the Construction function.
  • Perform all other related job functions as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognised university
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in construction in oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to delegate work assignments and give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities.
  • Knowledge of Construction information systems.
  • Knowledge of Construction planning, scheduling and reliability concepts.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months). 
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
