Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

 

The Expeditor is responsible for monitoring and expediting the delivery of materials, equipment and vendor data as defined on the purchase orders to assure operations are uninterrupted.

  • Undertake desk expediting and maintain expediting log and status reports.
  • Track all Purchase Orders and requisitions to ensure required delivery dates are met
  • Maintain absolute transparency in all department processes.
  • Ensure full understanding of the customer requirements with respect to delivery of items.
  • Initiate and undertake all remedial actions with a vendor where the vendors’ delivery has not been fulfilled or where delays have occurred in materials availability.
  • Establish strong relationships and communicate effectively with vendors.
  • Coordinate target delivery dates with buyers to ensure they are acceptable and aligned with Massy Wood Group’s operational needs.
  • Identify delivery trends of vendors and suggest remedial actions.
  • Participate in the development of Approved Vendor lists.
  • Attend relevant meetings with Vendors, Internal customers and client as requested and required.
  • Produce reports on materials delivery status for management. Explanations and comments must be explicit and detailed.
  • When instructed, assist in the procurement of materials or internal purchases
  • Assure all vendors are delivering within the target days established.
  • Proactively support the Procurement team to identify Purchase Orders’ delivery date delays.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Purchasing, Materials Management, Logistics, Business Administration or engineering preferred.

An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

 

Competencies & Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Good working knowledge of Project Management Software e.g. Primavera or Mpower, Microsoft Project.
  • Good understanding of the basic principles of Project Management.
  • Good general understanding of Cost Management, Planning and Change Control.
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • High degree of Computer Literacy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to and supervise others.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work in a Team environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with external and internal customers.
  • Ability to synthesise complex or diverse information.
  • Ability to work effectively, prioritise and develop realistic action plans in a fast-paced work environment
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago
