Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Planner with significant experience in the oil and gas industry. 

 

The Planner is the focal point for all planning and scheduling activities, for onshore and offshore operations, as well as, responsible for planned maintenance and supporting the Company strategic plan.

 

  • Review work breakdown structure (WBS) for assigned project(s) based on the relevant Project Management Methodology (PMM) Stage Gate requirements based on prior knowledge and experience.
  • Review project scope documentation with input from all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review integrated project execution plan for assigned project(s) in line with oil and gas and petrochemical industry codes and standards and prior knowledge and experience.
  • Develop or review the Integrated Project Schedule for assigned project(s) in line with Planning and Scheduling guidelines, level of accuracy for the relevant PMM Stage Gate and local and international benchmarks.
  • Provide input into the integrated schedule based on agreed WBS for assigned project(s) in line with Scheduling guidelines and prior experience and competence.
  • Support project engineer and/or project manager to implement resource allocation methodologies and exercise to optimize project delivery and performance.
  • Provide input with project engineering, project management and Supply Chain Management to the procurement plan for assigned project(s) in line with Supply Chain Management guidelines.
  • Provide input to Gate Review Package and documentation for assigned project(s) as per relevant PMM Stage Gate requirements and support Internal Decision Board preparation, meeting and post meeting follow-up actions.
  • Provide input into Risk Management Plan including risk mitigation action plans for assigned project(s) per NGC Risk Management guidelines.
  • Provide input to the Interface Management Plan including action plans for assigned project(s) incorporating internal and external interfaces.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reviews and meetings with project team members to ensure project targets for cost are achieved throughout each PMM stage, ensuring issues are identified and actions tracked to closure.
  • Monitor cumulative project cost performance and inform Project Manager or Management of variations against approved performance targets in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all value of works activities are carried out accurately and goods receipts are inputted in SAP software in a timely manner for assigned project(s).
  • Collaborate with project engineering and/or project management to ensure accurate cost for assigned projects are updated in Projects Online and reported through BI portal for assigned project(s).
  • Implement all activities to ensure adequate close-out of the assigned project(s) in line with PMM requirements and other NGC policies and procedures.
  • Review all planning and scheduling activities and assess opportunities for energy efficiency, and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Participate in technical reviews of bid tenders.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary reviews.
  • Comply with NGC Contract Management and Variations process in planning and scheduling activities.
  • Review all proposed and existing planning and scheduling activities and assess opportunities for energy efficiency, and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Perform value engineering which can include reverse engineering, opportunity studies, cost/benefit analyses and other forms of analysis and research.
  • Any other engineering activities related to the planning and scheduling discipline.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required.

Qualifications

  • First degree in relevant Engineering discipline or recognized equivalent professional engineering qualification.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the Oil and Gas and/or Petrochemical Sector.
  • HSE leadership and regulatory requirements including EMA, and OSH Acts.
  • Good leadership skills (size of team depends on category).
  • The operational aspects of topside located subsea hardware (SPCU, SDPU, HPU, MVP, TUTUs) etc.
  • Chemical, hydraulic and electrical distribution to Subsea Production Systems, specifically, trees, manifolds, jumpers and spools.
  • Subsea instrumentation including SSIVs and all Fibre Optic Cable (FOC) tie-ins and connections.
  • Principles for concept generation, evaluation, selection, and detailed design.
  • Economic modelling, business case analysis and sensitivities on engineering decisions and project objectives.
  • Pipeline work in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Natural gas industry.
  • HSE including EMA, and OSH Acts.
  • Techniques and methods of engineering design.
  • Assurance and application of relevant Engineering Codes and Standards (including API, ASME, TEMA, PIP, NACE, NFPA, IESNA, NETA, AASHTO, ASHRAE, ANSI) and Statutory Requirements.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
