Overview / Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrician with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. 

 

The Electrician is required to be to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local electrical codes and safety regulations. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and carry out corrective repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Install and test electrical circuits, motors, transformers, lighting systems, and control panels.
  • Ensure compliance with Trinidad and Tobago electrical standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
  • Use electrical testing equipment to identify faults and verify system performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas and adherence to safety procedures.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrical Engineering.

  • Valid Wireman's Licence would be an asset.

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of industrial, commercial, or residential electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and regulations.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying weather conditions.
